If you live in a relatively warm climate area, chances are, deep in the soil, you have termites inhabiting the soil. Occasionally, you might notice the lights around your area swarming with flying insects. They all look the same and fly around the lights in a swarm. These are most likely flying termites.
Flying termites may seem to look a lot like flying ants, but there are some differences if you look carefully. Normally, these swarms only last a short while and occur at dusk after some rain. These flying termites are flying males and females that can reproduce and whose task is to found new colonies. They can be identified from their linear-like body, which looks a bit like a sausage, and 2 pairs of wings that are all similarly sized.
